چکیده

Upcoming γ-ray satellites will search for Dark Matter annihilations in Milky Way substructures (or ’clumps’). The prospects for detecting these objects strongly depend on the assumptions made on the distribution of Dark Matter in substructures, and on the distribution of substructures in the Milky Way halo. By adopting extreme prescriptions for these quantities, we bracket the number of sources that can be detected with upcoming experiments such as GLAST. We find that scenarios leading to a high number of detectable sources, as well as scenarios where micro-clumps (i.e. clumps with mass as small as 10M⊙) can be detected, are severely constrained by the diffuse γ-ray background detected by EGRET. At most a handful of large mass substructures, and no micro-clumps, can be detected (at 3σ, with a 1-year exposure time, by a GLAST-like experiment) in the most optimistic scenarios.

Singlet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space

In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered,  but our information about  the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as  scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...

The Galactic positron flux and dark matter substructures

In this paper we calculate the Galactic positron flux from dark matter annihilation in the frame of supersymmetry, taking the enhancement of the flux by existence of dark matter substructures into account. The propagation of positrons in the Galactic magnetic field is solved in a realistic numerical model GALPROP. The secondary positron flux is recalculated in the GLAPROP model. The total posit...

Substructure Boosts to Dark Matter Annihilation from Sommerfeld Enhancement

The recently introduced Sommerfeld enhancement of the dark matter annihilation cross section has important implications for the detection of dark matter annihilation in subhalos in the Galactic halo. In addition to the boost to the dark matter annihilation cross section from the high densities of these subhalos with respect to the main halo, an additional boost caused by the Sommerfeld enhancem...

Dark Matter Caustics and the Enhancement of Self-annihilation Flux

Cold dark matter haloes are populated by caustics, which are yet to be resolved in N-body simulations or observed in the Universe. Secondary infall model provides a paradigm for the study of caustics in typical haloes assuming that they have had no major mergers and have grown only by smooth accretion. This is a particular characteristic of the smallest dark matter haloes of about 10−5 M⊙, whic...
